Library Books Arrive at Middle School
by Lisa Taffe
June 19, 2008
The Joseph Arthur Middle School will open this fall with a brand new collection of books. Over 4500 books were delivered to the library from Perma-Bound, a book seller based in Jacksonville, Illinois. A team from Perma-Bound will work with the librarian, Mrs. Taffe, to shelve the books. About 500 books appropriate for grades 6-8 have already been moved from the Central library to the middle school library.
Using new library software, students and teachers will be able to search online for books. Students will participate in a program called Accelerated Reader which will measure their reading progress and help to direct them toward continued reading improvement.
