On July 10, 2019, the Central Board adopted a Resolution to rename Central Elementary School to Dawn Elser Elementary School upon her retirement.
Dawn Elser dedicated 34 years to developing and educating students in Central SD 104. Her impact started as a paraprofessional from 1989-1990 and continued as an Elementary School Teacher from 1990 - 2008. She served as Principal of Central Elementary School from 2008-2017. In 2017 she was promoted and served as the Superintendent of Schools until 2023.
The official dedication took place today, June 17, 2023.
