You may have seen or been shared the recent accusations regarding iReady and other curriculum companies. Below is a response from their corporate office.
Lawsuits of this kind have become more common across the education technology sector, including cases involving Google, Renaissance Learning, IXL, Instructure, and others. We take these matters seriously and plan to defend ourselves vigorously against these baseless claims.
We remain firmly committed to transparency and strong safeguards for student data. We do not sell student data, do not use student information for advertising, and do not build commercial profiles of students. Student information is used solely to support educational services requested by schools and districts. We comply with all applicable federal and state privacy laws, including FERPA, COPPA, SOPIPA, and state-specific requirements.
We understand how important transparency and trust are when it comes to student data, and we want to address this directly and thoughtfully. Below are a few key points:
Curriculum Associates takes the protection of data and information, particularly student data, very seriously.
Curriculum Associates only uses student data for educational purposes.
To be clear, Curriculum Associates does not (and never has) own or sell any student data to third parties and does not use student data for targeted advertising or marketing.
We have robust data handling and privacy policies - links provided below:

The claims in the lawsuit are false and uninformed. The plaintiffs are fundamentally misunderstanding the way Curriculum Associates’ solutions work and how they improve teaching and learning for the schools, teachers, and students we serve.
Curriculum Associates is not alone in being sued by this law firm. The EdTech Law Center has filed class action lawsuits against a broad array of tech or edtech companies of all sizes, including PowerSchool, IXL, Instructure, Seesaw, Renaissance, and Google.
We take the protection of data and information very seriously and intend to defend ourselves vigorously against this lawsuit.
