Mrs. Icenogle’s class earned enough Tiger Tickets for a ghoulish slime day! 👻
They had some spooky science fun exploring how our slime can act like both a solid and a liquid!
They also had a special visit from Officer Ben, who read us The Littlest Pumpkin! 🎃 A fun-filled day of science, stories, and well-earned rewards! 🐯

Every time Miss Barnes’ class gets a compliment from a staff member they earn a piece of Mr. Potato Head. After earning the last piece, they got to enjoy a snack of chips.

Our fire safety assembly on Friday was amazing! Thank you to the O'Fallon Fire Department!

Dr. Moore had a GREAT, but BUSY day being Superintendent for the Day.

What makes the BEST day in computers? Sometimes, it's taking computers APART instead of turning them ON! Our second graders had the opportunity to put their computer knowledge to work by taking apart decommissioned Chromebooks to get an up-close look at the parts they've been learning about in Mrs. Grady's class. Armed with screwdrivers, prying tools, and safety glasses (because safety comes first!), students became computer technicians for the day! The excitement was contagious as students discovered what makes a computer work from the inside out! Who says learning about technology always requires screen time? Sometimes the BEST learning happens when we unplug, grab a screwdriver, and start exploring!

A huge thank you to OTHS' National Honor Society and their sponsor Mrs. Ritzel for their outstanding support in collecting Halloween costumes for our kids this year. Costumes will be available for free at JAMS Trunk or Treat this Friday night from 6-8 pm and what's leftover we will have available at Family Conferences the following week. We are so grateful for our partnership!

1st graders have been doing a whole lot of hands-on learning! This includes phonics practice writing with shaving cream, counting the seeds inside of a pumpkin, nature walks, and learning about therapy dogs!

Join us in recognizing our outstanding building principals this week! The time and effort they give to making our schools excellent is commendable!

As you sign up for Parent-Teacher Conferences, you may choose to meet with your student’s homeroom/advisory teacher or select a specific subject-area teacher based on the information you would like to discuss.
If you have a specific question or concern about a particular subject, we encourage you to select that teacher. For example, if you have no concerns about math but would like to learn more about your student’s progress in English Language Arts, you may choose to meet with their ELA teacher. If you do not have a specific concern or subject area you would like to address, you may choose to meet with your student’s homeroom/advisory teacher.
Important Reminder: All conferences at JAMS will be student-led. Students are expected to attend their conference and will have an active role in sharing their learning, progress, and goals with their families. Please keep this in mind when selecting your conference time.

Congratulations to our September Superintendent Shout Outs DEES Kindergartener Sawyer Clarke and JAMS 8th Grader Taryn Vogel!

Today our district joined OTHS, O'Fallon 90 and Shiloh 85 for our County Institute to hear a phenomenal speaker Damon West on the importance of being a coffee bean.

Second Grade Artifact Detectives! This week, our second graders explored authentic artifacts from the collection of the late Dr. Leo McCarthy, a physician and world traveler. Many of these treasures represented Native and Indigenous cultures, connecting beautifully with our Hispanic Heritage Month studies and showing how Indigenous history and traditions are woven into cultures throughout Latin America. Students became detectives as they observed, wondered, and made predictions about each artifact. What a meaningful way to wrap up our first quarter of exploring communities and cultures around the world! A special thank-you to the McCarthy family for sharing these incredible pieces of history with us!
